Building Airbnb's First On-Platform Content Hub
Airbnb's host communication team faced a critical inflection point. With an updated distribution channel strategy introducing multiple entry points, our talented but lean editorial and creative team needed to optimize for discovery while building something unprecedented: Airbnb's first on-platform content destination. The platform needed to encourage host success, build brand trust, and enable community connection —all while serving a diverse, global host community.
As the lead for production workflow optimization, I designed and implemented process management systems that transformed how content could be created, localized, and distributed at scale. The challenge wasn't just creating content—it was building sustainable workflows that could handle the complexity of global localization while maintaining quality and consistency.
Through thoughtful process design we transformed operational capacity—turning a lean editorial team into a globally scalable content organization. The success wasn't just in the 200+ pieces of content we launched, but in building systems resilient enough to serve as a lifeline for the global 4 million+ host community during an unprecedented global crisis.
By focusing on sustainable workflows rather than just immediate deliverables, we created infrastructure that enabled host success, brand trust, and community connection at scale.
